ROLE OVERVIEW
The Software Engineer acts as a customer champion — delivering expert technical guidance and resolving complex product issues. This role combines deep product knowledge with strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues, drive resolutions, and contribute to customer-driven enhancements. You will work closely with customers, Product, and Engineering to improve the overall product experience, with a strong emphasis on automation to reduce repetitive work and enhance system reliability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Support
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in a Node. js-based application (Express, React.js, DynamoDB/MongoDB, AWS SQS).
- Communicate technical solutions clearly and effectively to customers.
- Document issues, resolutions, and learnings for internal knowledge sharing
Technical Expertise
- Analyse and debug complex application issues across the stack.
- Identify and fix bugs while maintaining code quality and stability.
- Collaborate with Engineering to understand the codebase and implement solutions
Automation & Efficiency
- Build scripts and tools to automate repetitive support tasks and workflows.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics through automation.
- Contribute to internal tooling, runbooks, and self-service capabilities.
Customer Enhancements
- Gather customer requirements and translate them into actionable enhancements.
- Work with Product and Engineering to prioritise and deliver features.
- Stay current with the Node.js ecosystem and AWS services.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a Software Development Engineer or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, React.js, and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB / MongoDB).
- Familiarity with AWS services and CI/CD tools.
- Experience or strong interest in building automation — scripts, tooling, and workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
